Western European NATO countries have increased the military spending because they were pressured by the USA to share more of the cost of defense in Europe. More responsibility of European Nations for self protection. The target of military budget of these countries is about 2% of GDP. This concept also applied to Japan military spending. The USA need help from these countries to contain Russia and China.
