Every bank has insurance they can return your money back ASAP. Their insurance takes care of them. I believe in investigation is only when like you buy something like on TikTok and they scamming you for it so they have an investigator. It happened to me not too long ago. That's why they had the camera there at the atm machine where they can see you do deposit the money.

Same thing happened to me at Wellsfargo they disappeared 872.00 and 31 years later it still angers me that they refused in every way to credit me.. wish there was social media back then 😣

If they reconcile all that money that went in and it didn’t get recorded or tracked then they will should know that the overage is yours since you already put in a report. However, it will take time because of the process it goes through.
