This is so beautiful! I'm a coloured pencil artist, but would love to try and do this. A couple of questions if that's OK? Do you let each layer dry in between? And do you have a method for laying your line art down? Just go in freehand or use a tracedown sheet? Here's my latest memorial portrait ❤️

Adding linseed oil to the spirits allows the underpainting to dry more slowly. Lovely painting btw 🥰

Ok i have QUESTIONS . Will this show in the actual painting ? Does this help you remember where to paint ? It s like an underpainting but substracting and i don t get it cose you ginna have to comer the canvas with light paint there so whats the point ? I am so confuzed :)) It seems like so much extra work , what is the actual porpoise? 😂😂😂❤️

Wow great tips, will defo look to use these on my next painting. After you’ve done the light/mid/deep tones, do you leave the burnt sienna to dry down before going in with colours?
