We had ivy growing on our house for 25 years. It fell off in a storm as it had grown so thick and heavy. Did no damage to the bricks underneath.

The best way to get it off is to cut it along the bottom and give it a couple of weeks to die off. You should then be able to get it off easier with less damage to the bricks.

where renting and ours had ivy around the fence all the way down soon as we moved in it was going it broke most of the fence and the landlord wont replace it as its still holding just
