It mostly occurs in 20-25% of pregnancies, often in the first trimester. ⚡️Medical Management of a Threatened Abortion: ✔️Nursing care focuses on monitoring, providing emotional support, and educating the patient to manage potential pregnancy loss. ✔️Assessment & Monitoring: Monitor vaginal bleeding (amount, color, odor) and uterine cramps. ✔️Assess for signs of infection (fever). ✔️Monitor maternal vital signs for instability. ✔️Verify the results of serum hCG levels and serial ultrasounds to confirm fetal viability. ⚡️What the patient needs to do ✔️Activity Reduction: Advise rest and avoiding strenuous activity or heavy lifting. ✔️Sexual Activity: Advise pelvic rest (no sexual intercourse) until bleeding stops and a doctor confirms it is safe. ✔️Ensuring administer medication prescribe for you from the doctor or midwife. ✔️Avoid getting hurt food or water like tea. ✔️Nutrition: Encourage hydration and a diet rich in iron and Vitamin C. ✔️Ensure to report heavy bleeding (more than one pad per hour for 2 hours) or severe pain.
