I was never taught the phonetic spelling of stuff when I was in school I just know it and im also a big word smith. I’m 27 so I don’t think that was a critically taught thing especially in public schooling.

I agree, every time someone reads out loud in front of me, I have to pronounce some words for them because they’re genuinely unable to properly pronounce or process how to say a word while they are reading.
