@guywhodoesart: How to Draw: 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗼𝘄𝘀 Yes, this is a re-post 😅 I'm making new videos for this series, but wanted to re-share the old ones first for anyone who hadn't seen them before 😊 There's obviously alot more to how shadows ACTUALLY work, but this is a fun time saving tip I've used from time to time 😬 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: 1. Make a flat layer of your character, 2. Duplicate it and fill it with a solid shadow colour (clipping mask usually works for me), 3. Use the distort/skew tool to adjust and reposition the shadow on the ground. 4. Drop the opacity so its not a solid colour. 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘀 𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀: 1. Blur parts of the shadow that's further away from the character to make it more believable, 2. Use the warp tool or shift parts of the shadow if its been cast on uneven terrain. ................... ⚠️ I’m opening my Character Design Course soon, where I break everything down step-by-step: • Fundamentals that actually click • Techniques that make your work stand out • A full character design process you can follow ➡️ Join the waiting list now for exclusive discounts (Link in bio) #characterdesign #digitalart #digitalpainting #arttutorial #artforbeginners
