POV: You discover how easy it is to make Beef & Broccoli at home and you wonder why you’ve been ordering it out for all these years. It’s day THREE of my One Pan Meal Series and I am sharing this classic American Chinese dish that is great for really any time but especially for busy weeknights! I couldn’t pick a favorite in this series but this is definitely top 2! Be sure to check out day 1 and 2 and come back for more one pan recipes!! Steak & Marinade 1 lb flank steak, skirt steak, sirloin or strip, thinly sliced 1 tbsp cornstarch 1 tsp baking soda (optional) 1 tbsp soy sauce 1 tbsp neutral oil Sauce 1/3 cup soy sauce 2 tsp sesame oil 2 tbsp brown sugar 1 clove garlic, minced 1 tbsp ginger paste 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/4 cup water 1 tbsp cornstarch 1 head broccoli, cut into bite sized pieces Sesame seeds and scallions, for garnish 1. In a large bowl, combine the steak and marinade ingredients. Allow steak to marinate while you work on the sauce and broccoli. 2. In a small mixing bowl, add 1/3 cup soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, garlic, ginger and pepper. Dissolve the cornstarch in the water and then whisk into other sauce ingredients. Set aside. 3. Heat 1 tbsp neutral oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the broccoli and saute for 3-4 minutes. Add 1/4 cup water, cover the pan with the lid and steam broccoli until the water has dissolved, about 4 minutes. Remove broccoli from the pan. 4. Add more oil to the pan if needed and steak. Allow steak to brown for 2 minutes undisturbed, toss and cook for 2-3 more minutes, or until desired doneness. 5. Reduce the heat to low and add the sauce and broccoli. Cook to allow the sauce to thicken and toss to coat everything evenly with sauce. #fyp #foryoupage #onepanmeal #onepanrecipe #beefandbroccoli #betterthantakeout #DinnerIdeas #weeknightdinner
