@rachel.lily.spiker: 1: Impatience is a killer to progress. It’s usually a mismatch between expectations and how the body actually adapts. The truth is, your physiology runs on biology, not urgency. Muscle growth, fat loss, and strength gains happen on different clocks. For example, noticeable muscle gain can take 6–12+ weeks of consistent training, while meaningful body recomposition often takes months. This isn’t slow—it’s normal. Once you accept that, frustration drops because you’re no longer expecting a 2-week miracle. 2: You have to eat protein! Protein and fiber are so vital to building muscle and aiding in digestion. Try to aim for at least 0.8 grams per 1lbs of body weight. 3: Comparison is the thief of joy. It is okay to find people online that you can look up to. However, comparing your steady progress to someone else’s curated result will always make you feel behind. A little comparison can push you—but too much usually leads to frustration or feeling behind. And when motivation drops, consistency usually follows. 4: The best program is the one you can stick to. Complicated routines look impressive, but if they’re hard to follow, you’ll skip workouts or burn out. Simple plans remove friction, so you show up more often—and that’s where progress comes from. 5: Eat for the physique you want. Your goal depends on energy balance. Your body changes based on energy balance and nutrients—so if your diet doesn’t match your goal, progress slows or stalls no matter how hard you train. Lifting tells your body what to do. Nutrition provides the resources to actually do it. Without the right intake, you’re sending a signal your body can’t fully act on. We all have such diverse backgrounds ands experiences.
