Topiary Lecturer at least has an ability that automatically increases his power and thus his mana pool. You have to augment Viridian Joiner manually

I get complaints about powercreep, but having only this much creep over an almost 30 year old game is really not bad at all, plus if the power "creeps" but for all startegies over time, then no startegy really pulls ahead so the environment of modern magic is just as functional and fun, just different

I would rate some of the commons as uncommon compared to what I saw in nemesis and invasion blockset back in 2000.

Phantom monster has been power crept approximately 30 times already. There are SO MANY 4 mana 3/3 fliers in blue

you forgot the 4 mana mono black exile spell one mana less that the previous two 5 mana exile spells

I feel creatures need to share creature types to be compared like this. The elf druids are good examples of power creep but the other creatures are just too different because they don't share creature types.
