Puppetry is always better than CGI, because puppeteers are union workers and therefore have sufficient protections to make proper art instead of having to deal with crunch time

two things: 1) this is what made the original Yoda great (and what Lucas kind of forgot in the prequels). 2) werner herzog is a critically acclaimed director, I think he'd be more diplomatic than to bully, but either way- when a director of his caliber tells you something, you listen.
