my parents (boomers) would randomly treat themselves with a 3day roadtrip vacation or get a new lawnmower instead of sharpening the current blades. I (39) sometimes treat myself by getting the name brand toilet paper or buying a candy bar. we both work(ed) equivalent jobs.

Been this way since I got out of high school 😭😭😭 get out of high school, 2008 financial crisis hits. Takes a decade to recover, then Covid hit, stuck in the same shit different day. STILL DONT OWN A HOUSE. Don’t have savings. Barely can afford food and rent.
