I genuinely hate how lacking media literacy is nowadays because wdym you can excuse spinel and say her crashouts and actions were valid but can’t understand or blindly hate on steven for causing a misunderstanding even though he’s been running around the whole movie trying to fix a problem that was never even his fault to begin with 😭 Like yes you can empathize with spinel because she’s also a victim but the thing about the show is that the characters are never simply black or white. Spinel was a victim of pink’s negligence and selfishness but she’s also an objectively VERY morally wrong character to be talking out her pain onto innocent people and it pmo sooo bad when people try to excuse literal genocide like it’s okay to empathize and feel bad for her but it’s ridiculous to coddle her. Like I freaking love complex villains and characters (which is why su has one of the best characters) but I’m not gonna sit here and act confused when many people don’t like said villains like spinel (This is mostly directed at the spinel apologists that hates on steven for causing a misunderstanding)
