They make shoe molding,looks more finished with shoe. every customer I have ever done including the job I am on now which the customer is putting in the new base and shoe all customers always want shoe.

Shims or spacers. They come in the box of flooring tools for installation of lvp

Could put a drywall shim on the bottom side of base and you might cover

get a running start and see if you can get it to float that direction. or do the thicker baseboard thing

In your defense, that baseboard is pretty thin. Not a lot of forgiveness. I would just replace that whole board, and try to do better next time 😂
