@theartcoach: Tap the link in my bio to start the drawing drills course. This is a Level 1 to Level 3 box progression. Level 1: Draw clean, simple boxes in space. You’re training perspective, proportion, and confident edges. Level 2: Modify the box. Slice corners off. Cut planes away. Change the silhouette. Now the form becomes more interesting and more useful. Level 3: Use those boxes to construct a large fish turning through the water. Same foundation. Bigger result. That’s how drawing actually works. Complex subjects are usually just simple forms used intelligently. One student told me: “I used to think imagination was magic. Turns out it was boxes.” That’s the shift. You stop seeing a fish as impossible… and start seeing forms you already know how to use. If you want drawing from imagination to feel real, train the shapes everything is built from.
