People need to understand that it’s not the fact that she didn’t do it that entitles her to some semblance of forgiveness but the fact that she fully repented and even overcorrected for the THOUGHTS not actual acts that she had. The amount of work she put into protesting and helping her community shows that she genuinely felt remorse for what she was thinking about doing

it’s not that it wasn’t messed up because it absolutely was. but 1. it really opens up a conversation of what can happen when a kid who’s dealing with a lot of big feelings in an unproductive way isn’t getting the help they need, and 2. emma clearly learned from her mistakes and became of a very empathetic person, whereas her friends and her fiancé did not extend that same empathy towards her

I think casting someone like Zendaya was really smart because so many people (including myself) adore her and I really think that’s impacted the way people talk about the character’s actions.

People love to punish thoughtcrimes, but even moreso hate to accept that people can change. It’s one thing when it’s someone in your life that you feel personally betrayed by, it’s another thing when it’s someone you don’t know, especially a fictional character.

idk i ended up befriending the kid who was expelled for planning (after he came back to school) and he was very understanding of why people were scared of him but also sad that no one would be able to see that he had been struggling, got help, and got better (which is why he was allowed back to school)

As someone whose friend was planning an event like in the movie and was caught and kicked out of school before hand, I have been deeply negatively impacted by the experience and the way everyone ( especially fellow Americans ) are saying it’s not that bad or crazy is absolutely wild to me. Not to be way too deep 😭
