@dr.adam.dell: Loving someone is wanting and pursuing the highest good for another. This is the primary reason people flourish in interpersonal relationships. The love and trust between people provides a supportive environment in which to thrive. The act of betrayal, however, becomes a pivotal and defining moment for the relationship and within the life of the one betrayed. The damage done is of great consequence, not only to the relationship, but to the person‘s life going forward. The falseness of a friend, is indeed, quite bitter and the emotional devastation from such a hurt is not easily overcome.
