Cannonically, you are never really alone in Zomboid. Hence, these 'meta events'. There are people who are immune to the airborne strain, lore-wise. But game-wise, this is so zombie distribution is balanced. Not very fun because zombie pathfinding kinda annoying so they go through your building instead of around it.

I played the game two hours ago. It was my 5th day in the gametime value, and when I entered the police station, it suddenly played on the background. I jumped up from my chair and tossed the mouse into the wall (because I've also played in the headphones) in fear and terror.
