Personally for me its more of I believe that I had a life similar to my kintypes. Obviously this is different varying other fictionkins. But I'll use one of my kins as an example. Logan Sanders. Watching the Sanders Sides series some moments feel familiar, like deja vu. Like I've experienced it before but I was never there. I'll remember bits and pieces, feel homesick for a home I was never at. But it feels like the first time seeing yourself in a recording almost. It feels foreign and strange but somehow familiar

I'm a fictionkin + fictionleech. Everybody who identifies as Fictionkin has a different experience. For me, I just have a deep connection to a character I deeply relate to a lot, I know I'm not a fictional character, but every time i see that character I'm like "THATS ME!," Also I think you might be confused with another label, Fictionhearted.

MOST(not all but most) fictionkins believe in alternate universes actually! That’s how you can identify as one! I am a fictionkin myself and actually see myself as a parallel to my kintype! When I see my kintype i feel familiar with them and also with personal experiences to back me up, feel as them. There’s only one part of being a fictionkin that’s similar to being trans and it’s that you can’t really pick and choose your kintype or if you are a fictionkin, you can only figure out if you are! Again there’s different types of fictionkins but if you want a better comparison for fictionkins you can compare them to therians! They’re really similar. But mainly fictionkins are usually rooted in beliefs and being neurodivergent. If there’s and more questions I would gladly answer!

I don’t want to make this to long, but fictionkins are individuals who identify as fictional characters or species from media such as books, movies, or video games. This is an involuntary identity that isn’t just relating. Fictionkin know they are physically human and they do not possess the actual body of their character, but identify as them on a fundamental, internal level. This can be be spiritual (like past life reincarnation) or psychological. It is definitely not the same as being transgender lol, but many people have spiritual and multiverse beliefs, so that’s nothing new.
