If you're a make up girlie leave your make up at home and buy thai brands while you're here! They're reasonably priced and AMAZING! They're formulated for the heat and humidity so they don't just melt right off. my supermom foundation is divine and I picked up a waterproof mascara for ฿100 that survives swimming and the shower.

As someone who used to wait tables outside in the midsouth US heat and humidity which was often 95+ and 75% humidity, the makeup is absolutely doable. Just get a good foundation and setting powder and then blotting paper for throughout the day and you’re golden

As an older woman I’ve found that using self tanners for face contouring and getting a lash lift and tint and eyebrows tinted is enough that you really don’t need makeup in hot humid climates. A bit of lip gloss or lip tint and your set. 😉

pashmina 😊 to cover up.
Excellent advice.
Waterproof does NOT mean your makeup wont run - its not sunscreen proof
No need for shampoo/conditioner on any holiday - buy when you get there.

I was in Thailand for 2 weeks this April, and yes, hairdryer is not needed, but my make-up, even after sweating like a pig, was intact 😂

Another reason not to bring a hairdryer is, it’s so cheap to get it done professionally no point doing it yourself, no need to bring skincare as 711s brands are brilliant!

Don’t need a hairdryer it will dry naturally within 20 mins. Make up …… no one really wears it due to the humidity but if you need a little bit go to 7/11 as it’s very cheap and does the job

Don’t bring a hairdryer unless you have hair extensions btw! I tried to dry mine with the hotel hair dryer in phi phi because I couldn’t be bothered to take it from Phuket and it took me soooooo long 🤣

I don't live in Thailand but I live in Indonesia and all these also apply in Indonesia and the makeup thing is real. I batley wear my makeup and add on tips I personally found sanitary towels and body creams and soaps are available in south east asia.

Bring your own very good sunscreen because it’s expensive here and it usually has whitening ingredients in it as well. Also, if you’re going to Bangkok, I can’t speak to the other areas because I’m not staying there, but make sure you bring secure walking shoes. Whatever that means to you because the sidewalks are not flat, it is very common that there are holes or split apart pavement or tiles that are raised, etc. You really need athletic sandals or something like that.
