I'm building my water collection with IBC totes and I can't for the life of me find the ball for the first flush diverter. where the hell do you get it? I've even looked for kits and no thank you! haha!

Don’t know much about that stuff, but how come it is that you don’t bury the tank instead of draining it every couple of days let it go into the tank that’s underground and use that tank for water for the grounds

I recommend honey berries on the hill for erosion control and berries. they thrive in your area, are hardy down to -50, grow about 5'x5' and are easy to clone to make more. they don't mind crappy soil and thrive in neutral soil.
