@therapistinrecovery: If you just found out you might have OCD or think you have OCD, this video is a great place to start you’re healing. If you’re not sure, check out my pinned video “OCD vs anxiety”. This step is simple and its a more “beginner” place to start than some of my other videos. Make sure you watch the whole video as it’s so important to do this step completely. Once you you know the ocd super well then you will be ready for my next step 😊 #ocdtok #ocd #ocdawareness #obsessivecompulsivedisorder #ocdtherapist

It started because I watched a video on OCD and then I watched a thousand more and now I'm thinking about all the stuff I do that fits and whether or not I'm just being a hypochondriac or if this is really me and now I can't stop analyzing every thought I have and have had over the past weeks and on and on and on.

When I was first diagnosed almost a year ago, I saw it everywhere. I had so many "huh" moments and times where I could place it. But then the awareness of my ocd kind of turned checking for ocd thoughts and behaviours became a compulsion of its own. Still trying to get into therapy.

It’s hard to keep track of them. One reason I’ve been avoiding getting help is because I’ve experienced and been diagnosed with OCD historically and some types of OCD I’ve dealt with stopped being a trouble to me. I thought I was sub clinical. Now I am afraid that different experiences or things I’m experiencing are actually OCD but I didn’t know it was that. When it’s really bad I’m not in a headspace to write down what I’m experiencing or doing compulsively I’m just in such a bad way that doesn’t occur to me.

Hi! Can you tell me what “type” of therapist I should be seeing for this? I have it all lol and talk therapy is GOOD but I need targeted help. I don’t want someone explaining that titles don’t matter, I need validation - because they matter to me. Thank you!!

It sometimes feels as if I’m recovering but I’m so afraid of another bad day like I’ve had before I feel I’m anticipating and ruining it almost??? I also will have to stop myself immediately before a thought and say no it’s ocd don’t give in and go back to what I’m doing. Idk why I feel so weird when my mind gets calm or quite

Mine shows up when I feel a pain, or uncomfortable sensation in my body. I never know if the pain is real or if the symptoms and sensations are worth thinking about or if they’re a result of my anxiety. I google, check my body for blood clots, do deep breathing, googling… it started when I got diagnosed with my autoimmune disease and I’ve been ruled from ocd ever since.

The more I learn about how OCD shows up, the more I don’t know who I am without it.

Any thoughts on inference-based cognitive behavioral therapy (I-CBT)? It’s been a real game changer for me in handling symptoms and reducing shame around having OCD. I understand myself so much better.

Mine has switched to fear of developing psychosis/hallucinating. And now I am reading into every little thing like sounds and being hypervigilant, even though I know nothing abnormal is happening, what do I do it’s really scary
