i have veins that are very difficult to find, so getting blood drawn or an IV usually takes a while. i’ve been told that it’s better to go faster rather than waiting bc staring at a needle poking your arm can make your BP drop, which would make it even harder to find a vein. medial professionals care deeply about their patients. hence not wanting to unnecessarily prolong a stressful interaction, especially not in a way that could result in the patient getting hurt

There are few pleasures in life quite like doing something you never thought you’d be able to, and it seems like you have a lot of conversations with people who actively avoid any situation that might help them experience that moment. It’s a shame.

I can't even imagine being a doctor. I wanted to be a psychologist when I was younger, but I realized halfway through college if one of my patients ever offed themselves I would never recover. Let alone being a surgeon where a slight spasm could ruin everything.
