I have a friend who is pretty yelly, with kids around the same age as my son. We were over, friend was doing something in another room while I colored at the table with kids. My kid says 'love you mom' and her kids said 'we love you too'. My son got jealous, I explained its a different kind of love, and they obvs love their mom more/the way he loves me. One of them thought about it for a sec.. 'mmmm... no I love you more.' lol

An hour and a half, I used to make 2hr to school and 2hrs back 6 days a week when I was in the university by public transportation (I'm from Mexico City and here literally everything here is 2 hrs apart from everything) so yeah she totally could have make it 2 or 3 times a week considering her child is in the hospital. Even more if she has her own car which I believe is the standard in the US.

op had posted an update. Emma apparently disappeared/she hasn't heard from her since January (mind you this was 3 years ago). Grace has been released from the hospital into the care of Emma's parents. Caleb is still with OP and they visit his grandparents + grace several times a week. CSP is involved an OP will (/has been) granted temporary custody of Caleb. there are no further updates but OP said in the comments that the long term goal will still be reunification. though OP does feel conflicted about the thought of Emma just popping back up like "Ok I'm ready to be mom again"
