The greatest ever full stop. Played on old style tables. Heavier balls . Rubbish lighting, inferior tips and was just a natural born genius at the game.

He was like George Best with a cue. And ended up even worse. He paid for his genius. I don't follow the sport like everyone did in the 80s. But nobody played like Alex.

Absolute legend but should never have been able to play the game. His technique was awful. He didn't stand properly, He didn't line up properly, He hit the ball too hard. The incredible shots came from never being in position and he just slammed his way through a break. And bless him he did that all the way to a world title 👏👏👏👏 😉

Alex was a legend, learned to pay in a barn with the old ivory ball's, heavy, harder to control, yeah he had his share of flukes but you can't take away the skill he had. made snooker exciting, 👍👍 legend
