@missclairebenjamin: Handling someone who keeps making mistakes & is under-performing… It can be really challenging as a manager not show your frustration and annoyance when someone you’re managing keeps making mistakes and isn’t performing. Especially if you have already had conversations about this and tried to come up with solutions. It’s ok to feel annoyed and frustrated as poor performance can have an impact on you. My recommendation would be to vent this frustration with someone you trust (friend, partner, peer, your manager) so that you can have a conversation with your team member constructively rather than from a place of emotion. During the conversation it’s important to find out from them what they think is the reason for the continued mistakes and find a way forward together. They may need time to go away and think about this but it’s important it is a two way conversation and not just you doing all the work. 💬 What advice would you offer someone navigating a performance situation?
