Matthew 22 says the greatest command is to love the Lord, your God with all your heart, soul and mind and the second is to love your neighbor as yourself. 1Corinthians 13 says faith hope and love remain, the greatest of these is love. The bible is VERY clear about how high of a priority love is!

A number of years ago I came to a conclusion. The passage Matthew 22:36-40 is good but the really important aspect is verse 40 "All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments" This puts the entirety of the gospel into focus. When talking about rules Jesus said to love God and love each other AND all the other rules are related to that. If other people don't see what you do as Love then it is likely that you are failing in some way. Love requires understanding. To love other people we need to understand them so that when we set out to love them they can see it as love.

I see it as going one of three ways 1-im wrong about the existence of God but I loved a life of love anyway 2- I get before God and they say "well done. thank you for living a life of love. " 3- I get before God and they say "you didn't live how I wanted you to" and I will say, "if a life of love is not acceptable, I fear this is not the eternity for me"

I’m still pretty new to theology, but in my mind, God made me to be in relationship — with Himself, my neighbors, and Creation as a whole. Through love and relationship, I believe that I am fulfilling my purpose and satisfying my nature that he planted in me. I think God is worthy of worship because he does have awe-inspiring power, and yet I still matter to him. His love makes me want to love Him, if that makes sense.
