Still getting IV Herceptin. But worry about pain control for port removal. Retired RN/NP. So far things have been done with good pain control but in my lifetime, I have seen painful things done to people

Getting my port out was such an emotional experience. It really felt like a chapter was closed. They would not take it out for over a year once done chemo as they thought my cancer would recur so quickly. I am almost 3 years cancer free.

i still have port. It's more than 2 years now since the diagnosis. Maybe it will stay there for years. Nurse said some takes 10 years before removal
