Do you know if there is any research that shows if a CPP stops their pain meds it will make their pain better or at least won’t make it worse? I had gone to a pain clinic and was severely under medicated for the pain I was having. The pain clinic said I should stop the pain meds and my pain would improve and if it doesn’t improve it won’t make it worse to stop the pain meds. I said why can’t we try to increase what I am on? I had been on a very low dose for 6 yrs. They said no and would only offer gabapentin and Amitriptiline which I had already tried both. I’m so glad I have a new NP now.

Yes 🙏 everything here is so true. Actually I can’t believe the system is like this. (Gotta be careful to express any “psychological influence” if you have pain - they will then maybe say all is psychological? 🙈)
