MY SUPPORT Not a day goes by where I do not think how lucky of a man I am to have met someone to stick by me through everything. This isn’t your lovey dovey type post but more a sign of pure admiration for how impressive my wife has been to have held everything together and essentially help keep me alive. This Diagnosis came out the blue not just for me but also her. From the call she received a week before Christmas to the news of your husband collapsing to where we find ourselves now. She spent the day in hospital with me when I received the bad news ….. “we believe you have a Tumour in your brain”. Talking to me, cheering me up to asking if I needed anything every half an hour. I was so fortunate to have the support of my whole family that day but none more so than my wife. I’m not someone who has struggled before getting the news, I was physically fit and mentally strong. However that all changed. My wife seeing it all, the days spent on a hospital bed not moving, the lack of appetite for food, not being able to exercise at all, to eventually falling over out of bed on my last day going into work before surgery. I needed help with being fed, cleaning around the house, juggling all the kids activities. I struggled big time and the true person to see that first hand was my beautiful wife. My wife has seen it all, the blood tests, the scans, the scar, the radiotherapy, me taking chemotherapy …. The list goes on and on. Without her I honestly don’t know how I would have been able to get through the surgery. The encouragement, the words of positivity and the commitment to stand by me through thick and thin. The term in Marriage states - “to stand by one another through sickness and in health”. I certainly got more support than I can ever have imagined from this woman right here. For anyone battling Brain Cancer or been recently diagnosed. Find that support, ask for that support, you are not alone on this journey. We all have each other. #support #braincancer #cancer #braincancerawareness #braintumorawareness
