@global.intel.ltr: Bloomberg just reported the dollar hit a record 51.1% of global SWIFT transactions. De-dollarization is dead, right? Wrong. That number misses a huge trend that underscores - not undermines - the de-dollarization trend. #dedollarization #dollar #SWIFT #CIPS #yuan #china @bloombergbusiness
I never thought I’d see the end of EMPIRE in my lifetime, this makes me happy

Europe is adjusting the SEPA to SEPA instant, meaning transferring takes only seconds between bank accounts. This will take a bite out of swift as well

A single SWIFT statistic doesn’t prove dollar dominance is permanent.De-dollarization isn’t a headline event—it’s a slow shift.

swift is not being used in the whole world. China,Russia,Iran,North Korea and soon bricks nations will not be using/are not using swift system. The swift world is becoming smaller, while Myr system are being used by more and more countries.

I am pretty financially illiterate, so excuse the ignorance but curious, how does the possibility of moving away from the SWIFT system affect personal banking. I recently noticed that when I transferred money between banks (albeit both North American) I had a SWIFT number for my accounts. How may this change if other countries/conglomerates around the world end up changing to systems other than the SWIFT?

You still have not compared how the volume changes over time in Swift. You only mention that the CIPS's volume is growing but I dont know how much of it makes up for the loss in SWIFT system.

Using the Yuan isn't the final solution. There should be a non partisan currency that can't be manipulated by any government... Hopefully we move towards that.
