@jeremyyrayy: my car is doing great but yeah do not take your car to a dealership cause wdym it’s 10 times the price?! #carmaintenance #car #cardealership #popculture #catalyticconverter
Sir. I just paid $3k on a catalytic converter for a 2017 Tahoe with 205k miles. I’m going to go cry myself to sleep to the next 6 years

I find it hard to believe that they’re getting you a new catalytic converter for $400 parts and labor. Most of the time you’re going to be paying $300 for a catalytic converter from a pick apart

OEM parts & dealership labor add up fast. dealerships tend to have a $150-$200 labor rate per hour. OEM cats alone can be $3000 depending on what you need. unfortunately it’s not a stretch.

NEVER take your car to the dealer. My family has been in the industry for 60 years and I could tell endless horror stories

dealerships give me the same vibes are the firestone tire place. i got quoted over 600 dollars for new tires at firestone because they tried to have me get the most expensive long lasting tires(the car wasnt even going to last more than three months with minimal driving) and they tacked on an extra warranty thing that was optional but they were acting like it wasnt.

I literally found a mechanic on Facebook that does everything out of his garage at home. If I need OEM parts, he just orders them from the dealership in town. Costs me half what a regular mechanic would and the parts have warranties from the dealership/manufacturer anyway. Sorry no I’m not paying $1700 for a new radiator in my VW when Eric up the street can do it for half that. 💀

Dude I was asked to do a review I gave them a 6 out of 10, good yes but I had some issues nothing big. I was called 5-6 times in a week

Dealership prices are crazy, the dealership I got my car from sends me emails and mail telling me to get my services done there, I looked up how much an oil change was…. $99 yeah I’ll save that $30 and get it done elsewhere

I just realized it’s scam because they’re banking on you hearing that number and saying let me just trade my car in and I’ll continue paying the dealership money for a new vehicle instead of this current one. They are banking on the cost benefit analysis of knowing your cars current value and how much they could potentially charge you for services and repair.
