Great explanation! I’ve been making soap for over a decade. While lye should be treated carefully and with respect, nobody needs to fear it. Just use common sense and pay attention (and use proper PPE) and it’s fine.

Thanks for the explanation. It is definitely the need to handle it carefully that concerns me most. Obviously being careful and using safety equipment is key but I worry about doing something wrong on accident.
