@bellahoppa: Most Japan itineraries don’t fail because of distance… they fail because of stacking too much into each day. On paper it looks efficient: Tokyo → Mt Takao → Hakone, then straight into the Hakone loop, then Kyoto → Nara → Osaka, then Hiroshima as a “quick add-on”. But in reality it’s constant movement, check-ins, transfers, queues — and fatigue builds fast. The fix isn’t adding more days, it’s stopping the stacking. Pick either Takao or Hakone, split Kyoto/Nara/Osaka properly, and treat Hiroshima as a full day.
