I added 2 shelves to my Billy Bookcase. That way I have 2 shelves the fit mass market paper backs and the rest fit standard hard covers perfectly

you seem to have an extra shelf...the middle shelf is fixed and then you have 4 adjustable shelves. you have 5 which is why its not working.
