@eliagswarrior: Day 18 💙 Mom’s perspective The spica cast journey is pushing me in ways I didn’t expect. Eli is 5 years old and about 54 lbs in the cast… compared to 36 lbs before. That added weight and bulk changes everything—especially when it comes to lifting and moving him safely. One thing I learned quickly: 📌 Lift properly. Think RDL form. Protect your back. Take your time. And with Eli’s hypotonia, I’m not just lifting him… I’m supporting his muscle weakness through every movement. The cast is bulky, awkward, and yes… it will scratch you up sometimes (its made of fiberglass) 😅 But the biggest thing I’ve learned? Be patient. Give yourself grace. And take care of yourself too. You can’t pour from an empty cup 🤍💪. Day by day with Eli 💙 #godsplan #specialneedsmom #ddh #caregiversupport #raredisease
