@jessonthewildway: Hot take: your cooler isn’t the problem… you are 😂 This setup keeps food colder, dry, and actually lasts the whole trip—no daily ice runs. 1. Prime your cooler (this makes a HUGE difference) 2. Use dry ice—it lasts longer and saves you from a soggy mess 3. Pack it right: frozen food + meats first, then layer up to the least perishable Save this before your next camping trip 🏕️ #campingtips #outdoorcooking #campinghacks #camping
my husband and I bought a travel fridge, no stressing over ice

My food never gets soggy in a cooler because I use aluminum foil to separate the food from the ice

If using dry ice don't forget to vent the cooler, and if kept in a car you should keep a window open

dry ice in the airlock cooler will infuse your food with co2.

If you use dry ice in your cooler, NEVER CLOSE YOUR COOLER AIR TIGHT. Dry ice off gases into CO2 and that can pressurize causing your cooler to literally explode. It’s so dangerous.

Nothing is better than actual ice cubes. Yes, there’s ice runs and cooler maintenance. But camping comes with some chores. Zip lock bags for the food to keep dry. 👍

Won’t the gasses build up? Can you use it with a yeti type cooler or would it explode 🤔

you can also freeze water bottles and frozen meals instead of ice packs or loose ice cubes, that way it's at least usable when it cools! :)

All of that food will freeze. I keep my dry ice in a separate cooler and add small amounts.. (golf ball size) to the main cooler. A big of ice last me a full week camping or at music festivals in no shade.

Why are yall not draining your cooler to prevent this? That is literally why that drain is there. Drain, add more ice if needed.
