I feel like this is making tulips complicated for no reason. The benefit of tulips is they are so low maintenance. Set em and forget em until they grow again.

I’ve never heard of anyone pulling them out of the ground and replanting them - they winter over perfectly. The beauty of tulips is you plant them once and they multiply and rebloom for years to come

Zone 7 PA - I leave mine in ground and they pop up every year. This year a frost got them, but normally they hang around a bit.

In zone 7 trying to have my tulips come back next year. I deadheaded and waiting for foliage to die back naturally. This was helpful!
