Defending Jacob (2020) is one of those shows that really messes with your mind. It follows a family whose teenage son is accused of mur*er and the entire time you’re trying to figure out what’s true and what’s not. The way it explores doubt, loyalty, and how far a parent will go to protect their child… it’s heavy, but so well done. Presumed Innocent (2024) centers around a prosecutor who suddenly becomes the main suspect in a mu*der case. The twists keep coming, and just when you think you have it figured out, something shifts. It’s not just about the investigation it’s about secrets, perception, and how quickly things can unravel, which makes it hit even harder. Both of these are one-season series, no filler, just straight storytelling that keeps you invested from start to finish.
