@pocket.psychologist: I’m a psychologist. Most behaviour makes sense when you understand what it’s trying to do. Procrastinating often needs safety, not pressure. Overthinking often needs certainty, not more spiralling. Snapping often needs space, not more conflict. People pleasing often needs safety, not self-abandonment. Doom scrolling often needs regulation, not more escape. Cancelling plans often needs rest, not guilt. No motivation often needs momentum, not waiting. Clingy feelings often need reassurance, not chasing. Self criticism often needs compassion, not shame. Shutting down often needs safety, not force. Your first reaction is not always your real need. When you meet the need, the behaviour often shifts. Learning how behaviour, emotions and the nervous system actually work can change a lot. I don't know about making decisions NOW. I wouldn't say that's the best way to deal with that. You need to stop the overthinking. And you do that by regulating your nervous system. Making decisions when you're overthinking is the worst way to deal with that. Train your nervous system. Saying "no thank you, I'm not interested" is a way that helps in time to train yourself. Breathing techniques is also helpful. That's what you should teach people to do not to make rash decisions out of anxiety and fear and overthinking

I wasn't gonna comment but Mind Override Protocol by Novar Kade literally changed how I talk to myself. not in a corny affirmation way. I just stopped believing every thought that shows up some of them aren't mine the book explains why
