@thruhikers: We really dislike using these things. But in several of the more populated backpacking areas, all other food storage methods are illegal, and bear safety is important to protect both humans and bears. After more miserably loaded packs than we care to remember, this is the best way we’ve found to load canisters into our backpacks without lumpiness or lopsidedness.
