It’s an important discussion beyond romance novels. I write YA fantasy and there’s always an expectation from publishers that there will be a romance thread. I think there’s a responsibility to be careful how those relationships are portrayed even if it’s not the main focus of the book.

I’ve been watching that series on Apple TV, “conveniently” called imperfect women & it’s embarrassing to say, but I yelled at my TV about parts of the plot line 3 times so far. If this isn’t fixed by the season finale Wednesday, I’m going to be wondering if those roles were worth the money gained in playing those.
