“In February of 2022, I suffered a workout injury while performing a backbend. It was the second time I’d suffered this injury within a year - the first time healed after about 3 months. My symptoms were limited range of hip extension, tightness and nerve pain down my leg, minor foot drop, and minor calf paralyzation. I could no longer do yoga or any of my typical activities. After about 5 months of significantly diminished activity and pain, I went to see a spine specialist and they confirmed I had a significant L5/S1 herniation.   Over the course of the next 4 months I was in and out of physical therapy clinics and had attempted 3 epidural steroid shots - all of which had produced little to no relief. At this point I was feeling a bit hopeless and started looking into surgical options. In the meantime, I saw that Moveu was having a 90-day challenge and discount at the time so I went ahead and signed up.   I diligently worked 30-60 minutes every day. What surprised me about the check-ins were the postural inadequacies I’d developed that I wasn’t even aware of - I’ve been practicing calisthenics and “functional” style workouts for years so I thought this couldn’t be the case. In my last month in the program, the coaches suggested that I focus on the Shoulders and Arms program to address my kyphosis and see if it could help relieve the lower back. I think perhaps this became the key to my success. I was shocked at how much I felt I was getting out of the upper back engagement and around day 80 I started to notice some real improvement! Only two weeks out from my surgical appointment, I was delighted to call my doctor and cancel!    I’d recommend this program to any and everyone. For those without injury, I think the skills you take in here can be extremely preventative. And to those with injury or considering surgery - I think you have to fully give yourself to the program and put in the work to fix your sh!t - with the hope that you can find relief or improvement without surgical intervention.” Moveu Member - Kyler Berry
