@ladypenglovesyou: Before you sign that lease, read this. Most waxers pick their studio based on vibes and price. Then they spend the next year fighting their space instead of building their business. And it's never the obvious stuff. It's the details nobody thinks to check during a walkthrough. The things that seem fine until your first busy week — and then they're not fine at all. One bad lease decision can cap your income for however long you're locked into that space. These are the things nobody puts in the rental listing. Now you know. Comment below — which one of these would have saved you? 👇
I’ve had my studio downtown since 2008, and honestly, parking has never been an issue when you’re proactive about it. I always guide new clients on where to park (there are plenty of meters nearby) and build in a little extra time so they don’t feel rushed.
If you’re going to have a downtown studio, part of the job is helping clients navigate the experience—including parking. It’s all about setting expectations and making it easy for them 🩵🩵🩵

Megan | Raleigh Sugarist/Waxer :
When I looked at my space they told me the previous waxer who leased it had the bed against the wall. I don’t understand why because there’s plenty of space to have it in the middle. I could never wax with a bed against the wall, there’s no way it’s fully comfortable or functional for the waxer or client.
