Friedrich Nietzsche said Christianity is “Platonism for the masses” because it reflects ideas of Plato. Plato believed in a higher, perfect world beyond this physical one. Early Christianity adopted similar ideas like heaven, soul, and eternal truth. Later, Aristotle became influential in philosophy. He focused more on logic, observation, and the real world. Thinkers like Thomas Aquinas used Aristotle to explain Christianity. This made Aristotle popular in the Middle Ages. But Plato did not disappear; his ideas remained inside theology. Both philosophies continued together in different ways. So, Plato didn’t go—Aristotle just became more dominant for a time.
