@c5news: 50 years have passed since Formula One last had a female driver, when Lella Lombardi raced in 1976. But could that be about to change? The all-female F1 Academy hopes so. 19-year-old racing driver Alisha Palmowski, from Glossop, Derbyshire, knows all about the physical demands of motorsport - and tells 5 News that gender doesn't matter once you're out on the track. Finishing 5th in the 2025 F1 Academy season, she's hoping to one day make the step up to F1 and live out her dreams on the world stage.
