You might be wondering how it can be managed. I’ll tell you how. In the 1920s, a group of doctors put their epileptic patients on strict fasting to help manage epilepsy, and it worked. Fasting breaks down fats for energy and releases ketones. Ketones are: neuroprotective, neurohealing. The doctors got phenomenal results from fasting. But a person must eat. So they decided to try a diet that mimicked fasting. Which was a high-fat diet. So they stopped epileptic patients from eating carbohydrates, allowed very few vegetables, and gave a high-meat, high-fat diet. This diet is known as the “ketogenic diet”.
