there's a band called sabaton and they sing a song called no bullets fly. it's an animated story video that tells their story. stigler wrote in a book to Charlie I had lost my only brother who was a night fighter 4 days before Christmas I had the chance to save a B-17 from her destruction a plane so badly damaged that it was a wonder that she was still in the air. the pilot Charlie is as precious as my brother was. they became very close friends practically Brothers Franz stigler never got the knights cross but he always said he got something better.
