I’ve been getting emails from AI companies saying they’ll pay (actually quite a lot) for me to make a second TikTok account and post only videos about their tool on it, that they fully script. Like those voice recording/notetaker AI tools and ‘research’ ones, usually looking like real videos so undisclosed ads. I don’t even have a lot of followers. I can see why people who want to make a bit of extra money would go for these offers without really understanding how it damages their credibility.

I think consumers are becoming much smarter to not fall of tactics like this, especially in the space of AI! However as part of an omnichannel launch tactic to get people talking it also makes sense why they’d create fake videos!!

It’s because social media used to be fun. It used to be a place to connect now, everything is selling this course, in that product, and no one cares anymore. I barely get on social media at all anymore. I don’t wanna be constantly sold too, which is why I’m not very good at social media, because I have nothing to sell, and I’m not interested in buying.

It’s not just the brands doing it. They are paying for others to make the accounts. There’s communities to find kind of work. Ex Noise App, Whop, SideShift… like you said once you see if you can’t unsee it
