@metav3rse: A project called AERIS 10 has brought advanced radar development into the open, showing how high frequency tracking systems are now being built outside traditional defense environments. Built around a 10.5 GHz phased array design, the system combines both hardware and software into a single working stack, something that was historically limited to well funded labs and military contractors. What makes it stand out is the level of completeness, with everything from circuit design to signal processing tools made accessible, lowering the barrier for engineers to study and replicate complex sensing systems.

Great thing is, if you understand PCB Layouts and the code for it, you can change it from a 20Km 10.5 GHz radar to a 20km Radio Blocking signal for wavelengths upto 10.5GHz.

most importantly should you elect to build your own unit, be aware that the frequencies it operates in are almost assuredly highly regulated in your legal jurisdiction.

The attenuation and jitter on that in an urban landscape will be horrible.

my senior project in college was building an open source radiotelescope that could autonomously track celestial objects and that the public could schedule their own appts to use. built that thing with ~20 students. the grand opening is approaching

20km? At 10.5GHz? You could cook a hotdog in front of that thing, hopefully the manual comes with warning instructions…it would be pretty cool to have your own radar system tho
